DIY Wall Hangings: How to Use Embroidery Hoops as Modern Decor

For a long time, embroidery hoops were seen purely as a tool—a means to an end for Fiber & Needle Arts. However, the modern DIY movement has reimagined these circular frames as versatile elements of wall decor. At Craft Bloom, we love the minimalist, organic aesthetic that a wooden hoop brings to a room. They are lightweight, affordable, and incredibly easy to customize for any Home Décor style.

One of the simplest ways to use a hoop as decor is to frame a beautiful piece of Fabric that you’re not ready to cut up. Simply tension the fabric in the hoop, trim the edges, and hang it. For a more seasonal look, use a hoop as a base for a "half-wreath." Use thin wire or hot glue to attach Artificial Plants & Flowers to one side of the hoop, leaving the natural wood exposed on the other. This creates a sophisticated, asymmetrical piece of art that looks expensive but costs very little to make.

You can also turn hoops into functional displays. By stretching a piece of lace or mesh across the hoop, you create a beautiful earring organizer for your Beading & Jewelry Making collection. Grouping three or five hoops of different sizes together on a wall creates a dynamic "gallery" effect. Whether you leave the wood natural or paint it to match your Home Office Furniture, embroidery hoops offer an elegant way to let your creativity bloom on your walls.
